Clem Yates MW leaves Sainsbury's

18 January, 2012

Sainsbury’s winemaker Clem Yates MW is leaving the retailer to join Off-Piste Wines as sourcing and supply director.

She told OLN: “I spent three years designing the Sainsbury’s range with consumers in mind. We are partnering the team’s experience in selling with my understanding of what retailers want.”

Andy Phelps, category manager for BWS at Sainsbury’s, said: “I’d like to thank Clem for the contribution she has made to the development of the Sainsbury’s own label range including the introduction of our first range of Fairtrade wines.

"Our talented team of buyers and our second winemaker Lucy Clements will continue to focus on building both the breadth and quality of our own-label wines and I am confident that we will continue to build on our success to date.”

Yates will take up her new role in March.
