Proper Job wins Camra beer award

St Austell Brewery’s Proper Job IPA has been named bottled beer of Britain at the Great British Beer festival.

The runners-up spot was shared by Worthington White Shield and Captain Oates Dark Oat Mild, made by the Brown Cow Brewery in Selby, North Yorkshire.

Champion beer of Britain was Mighty Oak Brewery’s Oscar Wilde, a 3.7% abv mild produced in Maldon, Essex.

The competition, organised by the Campaign for Real Ale, is only open to cask ales and bottle-conditioned beers.
