On-pack football promotion for Heineken

Heineken is offering consumers the chance to win tickets to the UEFA Champions League final in an on-pack promotion.

The chance to go pitchside at the big match at Wembley on May 28 is the main prize, but there are others to be won every day until July 1.

The promotion is running on four-, six- and 12-packs of Heineken and supports the brand’s sponsorship of the Champions League.

Entry will be online by entering digits from the barcode.

There are also limited edition packs for the 33cl keg can and 5-litre draught keg, featuring Champions League and Wembley branding.

Brand manager Julia Rodger said the sponsorship was a “fantastic opportunity for retailers to capitalise on take-home sales”.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
