Champagne bike ride boosts charity funds
The Benevolent's fundraising efforts received a boost this month as Mentzendorff presented the charity's chief executive Cheng Loo with a cheque for £7,125 following
its sponsored bike ride to Champagne.
Led by Mentzendorff managing director Andrew Hawes,
a team of 12
cyclists completed the 400km journey from Calais to Bollinger, in Champagne, in just two -and -a -half days. Now in its third year, the event raised the most money yet, doubling last year's fundraising efforts.
"The event is a real challenge of mental and physical strength and is an amazing achievement ," said Loo. "Many thanks to everyone who gave their time and support to organise and take part in the event. A fantastic sum of money has been raised for which we are very grateful ."
