Build a pub in your own living room

20 September, 2007

South Yorkshire's Wentworth Brewery is offering consumers the chance to recreate the experience of going to a real ale pub in their own home.

For

£99, the brewer will supply cask ale fans with a 72-pint barrel of one of Wentworth's beers and a hand pump so they can have their own mini beer festival.

Sales manager Chris Tinker said: "We will even supply a small bar if it is ≠available on the day, and include it free

as part of the package."

Local delivery on Wentworth's patch around Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley is free, subject to availability of the delivery van.

Wentworth is hoping the package will prove a hit with beer fans organising Hallowe en, Bonfire Night and Christmas parties.

Agreeing to disagree

Disagreeing about wine is a fact of wine-trade life, like drugs in sport or corruption in politics. Because taste is entirely subjective, debates about our personal preferences are as inevitable as they are interminable. Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
