Top selling Oz in major push

21 September, 2007

Pernod Ricard is launching a £1.6 million ad campaign this autumn to promote its Australian wine range, Jacob's Creek.

The print and online campaign will focus on the Three Vines and Reserve ranges and will be supported by in-store tastings and POS material.

Wine development director Adrian Atkinson said: "Jacob's Creek is in a great position. It's got a firm hold on the number one spot, is in good growth and the launch of Jacob's Creek Three Vines has been very well received by the trade.

"With excellent listings now live for the new range, and Jacob's Creek Reserves securing additional stockists, we are confident the promotional support will encourage new and existing consumers to discover the quality and variety which Jacob's Creek offers."

Ads will feature on websites such as Yahoo, MSN, and, and ads featuring the Welcome To Our Place tagline will appear in weekend colour supplements in national newspapers and in glossy magazines such as Grazia, Marie Claire and GQ.

Figures released by Nielsen on Aug 11 showed Jacob's Creek to be the top selling Australian wine in the UK.

The Three Vines tri-varietal range was launched earlier this year and has listings in Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Thresher and Spar with an rrp of £6.99. It sits between the producer's traditional range and the eight-strong Reserve range with an rrp of £7.99 and £9.99 for the sparkling.
