Muddler range is getting fruity

21 September, 2007

London-based Muddler Drinks has created a range of ready-mixed fruit cocktails.

The first variant to be rolled out in the off-trade is made from raspberries, blackberries and blueberries, mixed with a cloudy apple juice and an oak barrel-aged sugar cane rum.

Despite having 6.4 per cent abv, Muddler Cocktails are not RTDs, according to co-founder Henry Debenham. "It's a premium real fruit cocktail in a bottle, that has been created to appeal to the more mature and sophisticated palates of at-home drinkers," he said.

The company has plans to launch a 75cl sharing bottle and a new variant in the New Year.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
