Thresher appoints new franchise boss

02 October, 2007

Thresher has appointed Mike Baker as principal of its franchise operation.

Fyl Newington, former head of franchise, has been appointed head of strategic planning, and will be working with chief executive Yvonne Rankin and the Thresher senior team to formalise the business review process announced last month.

Baker will take full operational control of the franchise business which expects to have around 150 stores by the end of 2007, integrating it into the existing partnerships division which has developed link-ups with the likes of BP and Center Parcs.

Baker said: Im delighted to be assuming responsibility for franchising as I can see many synergistic benefits for all concerned.

Threshers franchisee recruitment programme has been put on pause while the company conducts a strategic review of its operations.
