Neil Bruce has joined WaverleyTBS

as wine category director. He will

direct the wholesale wine business in the on and off-trade. Bruce said: "I am keen to build on the existing momentum. There is enormous knowledge and passion throughout the business."

Bottle Green is expanding its sales and commercial teams with five new

positions. Tim Redman and James Murch have

joined the wine importer as national account managers while Victoria Brown will take up one of two newly-created account executive positions. The second is expected to be filled in the next few weeks. Commercial director Adam Marshall will also see his team expanded with the appointment of Catherine McTeigue as commercial executive.

Italian wine producer Cavit has developed a range of wines from Trentino for the UK off-trade. The Alta Italia range comprises a Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and has a rrp of £6.99. The name was chosen to refer to the high altitude hillsides where the grapes are grown.

The Viva Italia

tasting will be held at the National Hall, Olympia, from today until Oct 7. The event, which showcases other products made in Italy, will include seminars hosted by Andrea Rinaldi, director of the Italian Sommeliers Association UK, and the Viva Italia Wine Award. Argentine wine producer Trapiche has appointed Gustavo Arroyat export manager for the UK. Arroyat, already responsible for the company's sales in the USA and Canada, will now also take over Julian Orti's responsibilities in the UK.
