Baked snacks aim for wholesome image

19 October, 2007

Tastees UK has created a range of cheese-flavoured baked snacks.

Advertised as healthier than crisps because they aren't fried, Tastees are made from rice and contain no wheat .

"Tastees will exploit consumers' demand for wholesome products. Qualitative research showed that consumers wanted products which combine healthier ingredients and a sumptuous taste," a spokesman said.

The launch will be backed by print ads in national and regional newspapers, features in the lifestyle press and unrevealed sponsorship deals. They are available in 50g bags (rrp 40p-50p) and the company plans to roll-out additional flavours and multi-packs in the future.
