ACS announces summit date

The Association of Convenience Stores has released details of this year's annual summit.

The event will take place on April 24 at the Hilton Metropole with the themes of environment, community and innovation its main focus.

TV presenter John Stapleton has been chosen to chair the day and presentations will be given by Yo! Sushi founder Simon Woodroffe and Tony Juniper from Friends of the Earth among others.

Video case studies on the experiences of independent retailers Martin Lovell at Shobden Stores, Appean Sharma of Costcutter, and Jonathan James at James Graven & Sons will also be shown before they appear in a Q&A session with Stapleton.

James Lowman, chief executive of the ACS, said: “Our aim is to present a summit that will provide delegates with ideas, practical advice, support and most importantly, the inspiration to make their business more successful.”

Lifting the spirits

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”.
