Waitrose beer buyer Steve Wallace is leaving the supermarket today.

Wallace joined the company as beer and cider buyer in early 2006, and has pioneered local sourcing there.

Wallace was not available for comment, and a Waitrose spokeswoman said he is leaving the company to return to Scotland.

She added that his replacement will be announced shortly.
