Only the Finest for Tesco's ale and cider

25 January, 2008

Tesco has launched a range of premium ales and ciders under its Finest own-label.

The three ales in the line-up include a 5 per cent abv bottle-conditioned ale produced by O'Hanlons Brewery in Devon (1.79), a 4.7 per cent abv golden ale from the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, Yorkshire (1.69), and a 5 per cent abv IPA from the Williams Bros Brewing Company of Alloa (1.59).

The retailer is also cashing in on the cider boom by rolling out four ciders in 50cl bottles. Three come from Herefordshire producer Westons - an oak-conditioned cider (6.6 per cent abv, 1.69), a cloudy cider (7.3 per cent, 1.79) and an organic cider (6.5 per cent, 1.69). The final cider in the line-up is a 7.4 per cent single varietal cider from Thatchers (1.49).
