Drinks Retailing Awards 2008

05 February, 2008

The 2008 Drinks Retailing Awards take place at London's Dorchester Hotel tonight, with hundreds expected to attend.

The awards, now in their seventh year, aim to recognise and commend excellence in drinks retailing and are open to everyone, from small independents to the major multiples.

Finalists of 16 categories, from best community off-licence to best supermarket, will find out tonight if they have won.

The winner of the lifetime achievement prize will also be revealed at the glittering ceremony.

Hundreds of entries were received by the OLN Academy who spent weeks considering them all before voting for their first, second and third choices in each category.

In the independent categories, a shortlist was drawn up and the three highest scoring entrants were visited by a judge. A final round of judging based on that report then took place and a winner was chosen.
