InBev assigns Hilger to marketing role

InBev's marketing director in Germany is to fill the vacancy left by the departure of UK marketing boss Devin Kelly.

Andreas Hilger will join the UK operation on March 1, reporting to company president Richard Evans.

"It's testament to the talent within our company globally that we could fill the position internally," said Evans.

Hilger was responsible for the launch of Beck's Gold and Beck's Green Lemon.

Before that he was marketing vice president, responsibl e for Beck's, Staropramen, Leffe and Hoegaarden.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
