Senses make sense for lovers of KitKat

Nestlé Rowntree is targeting health-conscious

women with

a lower-calorie version of its traditional KitKat .

KitKat Senses is a chocolate wafer biscuit bar with a hazelnut praline centre. A 31g bar contains 165 calories.

Nestlé is investing £9 million in

marketing

the new variant,

kick ing off on April 7 with a five-week burst of TV ads. It is also planning a major magazine partnership, online activity, PR and a 1.5 million bar sampling campaign.

Senses will be on shelf from March 1 with a n rrp of 45p. A five-pack will retail for £1.39.

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
