InBev UK & Ireland appoints new president

18 February, 2008

InBev UK’s former take-home managing director, Stuart MacFarlane, has been appointed president of InBev UK & Ireland following the departure of Richard Evans.

MacFarlane returns today to the UK from InBev’s global headquarters where he has been working as global director of customer standards, to take up the role.

Evans, who was appointed president in 2006, said the time had come to “seek new challenges” after 14 years at InBev.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
