New look for Gaymer's Olde English

The Gaymer Cider Company is giving its Olde English cider a 1.2 million marketing boost.

A new packaging design has also been unveiled.

The company's manager director John Mills said: "Olde English continues to show strong value growth across all key cider regions . It is important to commit more support to exploit the opportunity that exists for Olde English. We have planned an exciting and strong campaign ."

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
