Mars urges Britain to get playing ball

Mars is giving away 100,000 footballs as part of its latest on-pack promotion.

The Mars Balls Get Britain Playing campaign is designed to encourage the nation to get active and play more football. It will run across single, duo, five and nine -bar multipacks, Mars Planets, Mars ice cream bars and Mars drinks from now until June.

The on-pack instant win giveaway will be backed by a £7 million marketing push that will include TV, press, radio and outdoor ads, in-store POS

and PR activity. The brand has also teamed up with The Sun newspaper and radio station Talksport, and is sponsoring

Grass Roots Football Live

at the Birmingham NEC, running from May 30 to June 1.

Bep Sandhu, Mars Snackfood UK trade relations manager, said: "We are confident this is going to be another winning campaign.
