Schweppes' soft drinks for adult palate

Schweppes is rolling out two ranges of soft drinks targeted specifically at adults.

Lightly Sparkling consists of sparkling fruit-flavoured drinks in Grapefruit & Mandarin, Pomegranate & Blueberry, and Apple, Pear & Cinnamon flavours.

Classics will include Cloudy Lemonade with a squeeze of lime and Ginger Beer variants. Real ingredients, including root ginger extract, are used in the drinks, which contain no artificial colours.

Both ranges will hit retailers' shelves in April, with a 1.25-litre bottle retailing at £1.49.

Traditional soft drink flavours are showing strong growth in the UK, according to Cathryn Sleight, marketing director at Coca-Cola GB : "Our research has proved that there is real demand from consumers for soft drinks that appeal to an adult pal ate," she said.

"This demand, combined with a billboard advertising campaign, will create real buzz around the launch ."
