London debut for 2006 Chianti Classico Collection

04 April, 2008

The Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico is bringing the Chianti Classico Collection to London for the first time.

The collection, which used to be known as Anteprima, will showcase the latest 2006 vintage in a sit-down sommelier service tasting at Somerset House on May 19. The new format

allows members of the UK trade and press

to choose which wines they want to

be brought to a tasting table by a sommelier.

The event will also feature a walk-round, self-pour tasting of the 2006 and 2005 vintages of Chianti Classico and the 2004 Chianti Classico Riservas.

Consorzio president Marco Pallanti said: " This major tasting event

will provide the UK wine trade with a chance to taste the excellent 2006 vintage of Chianti Classico and reinforce Chianti Classico's commitment to the UK market."

Peter McCombie MW and Pallanti will present tutored seminars on altitude in Chianti Classico and Sangiovese from Chianti Classico compared

with other regions . To book a place contact or call 020 7089 3852.
