Celebrating eccentricity with Hendrick's

Hendrick's Gin is hosting a series of flamboyant Victorian-themed events in cities across the world including London, Cannes, New York, Barcelona and Paris.

Called The Fantastic & Ridiculous Monday of The Unusual Rose

& Cucumber Society, the events are designed to strengthen the brand's association with British eccentricity.

They will include extravagant costumes, a private bar in a horse-drawn carriage, performances , moustache painting, a shamanic spiritualist and serving Hendrick's in china teacups.

Global brand ambassador Xavier Padovani said: "What better way to communicate the brand values of Hendrick's than with a string of Victorian-inspired eccentric nights where Oscar Wilde is quoted, costumes are authentic and cocktails are derived from literary works by Charles Dickens?"

Britain's bartenders will be competing at Hendrick's Bartender's Croquet Championships 2008 at Bedford Square Gardens in London on June 15. Spectators are invited to cheer on their favourite sportsman while enjoying a complimentary glass of gin, and awards will be given to the Best Dressed, Most Disorderly and Best Shot of the Tournament.
