United Biscuits is relaunching its Multigrain Hula Hoops with new multipack flavours and revamped packaging. The two new multipacks are Classic - which contains Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, and Salted flavours - and Variety - Cheese & Onion, Roast Chicken and Barbecue Beef. The redesigned packs aim to highlight the positive benefits of Multigrain Hula Hoops by including the phrase "source of fibre", a spokesman said.

Walkers is introducing Smoky Bacon to its Big Eat range. Retailing for 46p a pack, Smoky Bacon is Walkers' fifth best selling standard bag flavour in impulse, worth £5 million and growing at 20%, according to the company.

Icelandic Water has appointed Simon Hillliar as sales director for its Icelandic Glacial H2

brand in the UK. He joins the company from Heineken where he was involved in building sales of the brand in the UK market after its UK relaunch. He has also worked for

Highland Spring in its grocery and wholesale divisions.

Mars has teamed up with Grass Roots Football Live as part of its Mars Balls Get Britain Playing campaign.

Mars is sponsoring the main stadium and its branding will feature on players' kits, footballs, the event website and goody bags. Visitors to the stadium will be invited to take part in

five-a-side games and watch celebrity matches.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
