Bunnahabhain Distillery has released a limited edition Bunnahabhain 21 Year Old 1986 Vintage of the Islay single malt whisky. Only 512 bottles have been produced, with each one hand-numbered and available in a gift tube containing a scroll.

It has a natural strength of 46.7% abv and is described by the distillery as having a flavour of "sherried oak, nutty chocolate maltiness, toffee caramel and a touch of honey".

Jägermeister distributor Cellar Trends has transformed an eastern European ex-army lorry into the Jäger Truck - a mobile music arena

with a 5,000W sound system, stage, DJ booth and three plasma screens.

It will visit festivals across the country this summer, including Download, Wakestock and Freeze.

Fitted with four Jägermeister dispensers and a 20m bar,

it can serve 2,500 drinks per hour, according to marketing manager Mike Swingwood.

Wyborowa is telling consumers "there's no V in Wodka" in its latest ad campaign. The push draws its inspiration from the historical fact that vodka initially came from Poland, where it's called Wodka. Activity includes print, radio and online ads, a cover wrap of the Metro newspaper, animated ads on the London Underground and a link-up with the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival.

Islay malt whisky Laphroaig is hosting an online tasting on June 18.

All online Friends of Laphroaig

have been invited to take part in the initiative,

broadcast live from the Islay-based distillery at 8pm. Expert and

writer Martine Nouet will lead the tasting,

with Laphroaig master blender Robert Hicks and distillery manager John Campbell.

Sauza will be the tequila of choice at The Big Chill

this August, when festival-goers will have the chance to sample the Sauza Paloma, made from Sauza Blanco and lemonade. The

event will also host a branded marquee and Sauza bar.

Six Scottish apprentices are being offered the opportunity to learn the traditional craftsmanship skills of the Scotch whisky industry. Diageo is looking for two

for its Abercrombie premises, and four to join its cooperages at Port Dundas and Carsebridge.

Lifting the spirits

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”. At Nielsen, we define the Christmas period as the 12 weeks to December 30 and in that time gin sales were £199.4 million, which means they increased by £55.4 million compared with Christmas 2016.
