Voga in vogue with revolutionary bottle
Published:  27 June, 2008

A range of wines in a revolutionary cylindrical bottle is being brought to the UK by Guy Anderson Wines.

Voga Pinot Grigio was launched by Italian producer Enoitalia in the US in 2005 and is now aiming to tap into the boom in Pinot Grigio sales within the UK.

The bottle has a cork closure with an airtight twist-off cap to enable the wine to be resealed after opening.

The flagship wine in the range is already in 40 markets internationally, with total sales so far topping 7 million bottles.

It has since been joined by a Merlot wine from Sicily, a rosé and a sparkling Pinot Grigio, all of which will be available through Guy Anderson.

The still wines are expected to retail at £6.99 and the fizz at £7.99.

Simon Bradbury, sales director for Italy at Guy Anderson, said: "Italy is known for fashion and design, so it is appropriate that this striking new wine bottle should have originated there.

"Bold innovation is key to attract new consumers and trade others up through the wine category."
