Mini Pommery reinvents Brit Pop

A mini-Champagne bottle decked out in the colours of the British flag is the latest addition to Pommery's Pop range.

The launch follows hot on the heels of a stars and stripes version introduced for American Independence Day.

"It gives a whole new meaning to the term Brit Pop," said Sara Hicks, UK manager for Vranken-Pommery Monopole.

Pop UK has an rrp of 13.50 and supplied in the UK by Percy Fox and Justerini & Brooks.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
