Importer deal for Aussie fine wines

Australian fine wine producer Reschke has expanded UK

availability

of its wines in a deal with H&H Bancroft.

The importer is listing four wines from the Coonawarra-based producer -

Empyrean 2002 will have an rrp of £44.95, Bos 2003 will retail for £17.25, Vitulus 2003 for £12.75 and Sauvignon Fume Blanc 2007 for £11.50.

Burke Reschke began planting vines on his family's cattle ranch in 1989 and has

developed

145ha of vines, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, Shiraz, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

The wines already have a selected presence in the UK through Selfridges and restaurants including the Fat Duck and Bentley s.

Reschke said: "We are producing wines with a commitment that concentrates on the vine and are delighted that we continue to receive awards for our wines, as well as achieving high scores from Robert Parker."

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
