Grolsch gives rare twist to a classic

11 July, 2008

The famous swing-top bottle for Grolsch has been given a makeover, with the reintroduction of grooves on the side to give a firmer grip. The bottle also has a slimmer shape.

UK supplier Coors said this was only the fourth time the bottle had been changed since it was

introduced in 1897.

The Grolsch swing-top

recently

gained a place in the Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising in London.

Senior brand manager Laura Burgoyne said: "As one of the most identifiable and functional designs, our swing-top bottle

can hold its own against some of the most iconic

brands of our time."

Agreeing to disagree

Disagreeing about wine is a fact of wine-trade life, like drugs in sport or corruption in politics. Because taste is entirely subjective, debates about our personal preferences are as inevitable as they are interminable. Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
