The National Farmers' Union has launched the first cider to carry the red tractor logo of the food industry's Assured Food Standards' alliance.

Farmers Harvest Centenary has been produced by Somerset-based Sheppy's and is to go on sale in 75 Tesco stores, as well as NFU and Sheppy's websites.

AFS chief executive David Clarke said: " We are delighted Sheppy's has taken the lead in this category and is committed to sourcing farm-assured ingredients."

The cider is a blend of Michelin, Harry Master, Browns Apple and Yarlington Mill cider apples with an abv of 6%.
