Heyes: passionate about S&N vision

Scottish & Newcastle UK has named Shaun Heyes as its new head of customer marketing for the off-trade.

Heyes, who has more than 15 years' experience in the alcoholic drinks industry with S&N UK, will be responsible for developing and implementing the commercial marketing strategy for the take-home sector.

He said: "I am passionate about embedding our category vision, helping retailers to maximise category growth opportunities afforded by our

portfolio.

"I will be developing a plan which will optimise the performance of all of our brand and innovation opportunities. Ultimately we will build our success by helping our customers to realise their own aspirations in the category."

Heyes will lead a team of 22. His predecessor Carol Saunders has taken a senior marketing position

at S&N UK.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
