Ardbeg takes new stance with Blasda

Glenmorangie's Ardbeg distillery on Islay has launched a limited -edition lightly peated malt.

Blasda - meaning "sweet and delicious" in Gaelic - will be listed by Selfridges and Oddbins, with a shelf price of around £50 a

bottle.

The whisky is chill-filtered and bottled at 40% abv, compared with the

Old's non-chill treatment and 46% abv.

The bottle is clear glass instead of the main brand's green.

Brand director Hamish Torrie said: "It's a limited, experimental release of some very light Ardbeg and will arouse the curiosity of Islay malt drinkers."
