Kettle Chips is advertising its latest limited -edition variant in a national

TV campaign.

The new seasonal flavour - Cheshire Cheese & Chutney - is being launched in the run-up to Christmas in 150g sharing bags (rrp £1.59). TV ads will screen throughout October.

Twice as many Kettle Chips are sold at Christmas than any other time of the year, according to the company.

"Kettle Chips are ideal for sharing occasions and social gatherings so they're always a hit over the Christmas period. Consumers are more inclined to treat themselves and their guests as the festive season approaches," a spokesman said.

Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
