The Cape Grace range from South Africa was launched in 2004 by Thierry's and has since gone from strength to strength. It's now one of the UK's top 20 South African brands.

The range includes Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage rosé, Semillon/Chenin Blanc blend and Pinotage/Merlot blend. Cape Grace wines are widely available, with

listings in Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Somerfield, priced from £4.79.

Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
