Olives Et Al ready to rumble with new nut range

Dorset-based Olives Et Al is targeting its new range of kiln-roasted nuts at wine shops with delis.

The Rumble Nuts range come in three varieties : Hot & Seedy Nuts is a mix of chilli and rosemary-flavoured almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds ; Spicy Cajun Nuts contains almonds, cashews and peanuts coated with spices, and Chihuah ua Chilli Nuts is a mix of almonds, cashews and peanuts with a seasoning of smoked and dried chipotle chilli, garlic and spices.

The 50g packs have a recommended retail price of 1.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
