Major investment for Burn Stewart

Burn Stewart Distillers has relaunched its Deanston Single Malt following a major investment in production facilities at its Perthshire distillery.

Old whisky is described as having "layers of barley sugar, creamy toffee and orange with hints of ginger" on the palate. It will roll out to specialist whisky shops in revamped packaging from this month.

Master distiller Ian MacMillan has also created a new expression at 40% abv for Marks & Spencer, which will be available in 100 stores.

The two new launches form part of Burn Stewart's long-term plans to increase distribution within the UK and Europe, according to a spokesman. Previously Deanston has only been widely available in the US with over 75% of its volume coming from that market, he said.
