Silk Cut plays up to retailers with offer

Gallaher is touring cash and carries to give independents the chance to win

more than 140,000 in prizes.

Every retailer who purchases an outer of Silk Cut in 40 participating depots will get the chance to play the Silk Cut Squares game.

To win a prize, players have to reveal two matching squares on a screen inside

a booth at the cash and carry. Sony TVs, digital cameras and MP3 players are all up for grabs.

Twenty retailers will also be selected at random to take part in a grand final on Dec 15 in London, where they will win at least 500, and one winner will walk away with 10,000.

Communications manager Jeremy Blackburn said: "The launch of Silk Cut Squares demonstrates Gallaher's continued support to the independent and wholesale trade, offering innovative and exciting rewards to retailers who support the UK's leading lower tar premium cigarette brand."

Throughout December Gallaher's sales team will also be visiting retailers to offer them the chance to win a further 60,000 in a scratch card promotion.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot.
