Wine Australia in global shake-up

Kirsten Moore is leaving her post as Wine Australia's UK regional manager at the end of the month after three years.

Her departure follows a restructure of the generic body's global offices, which will see the appointment of a regional manager with extended responsibilities for Europe and Ireland as well as the UK.

The recruitment process for the new role started in mid-November,

and an appointment has not yet been made.

The delay

leaves the UK without a perm an ent representative, although a member of the team

from Australia will move to the London office as an interim measure. The changes come as Australia's market share decreases, with sales dropping 1% to £1.1 billion as hard-up

consumers buy less wine .

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”.
