Ara adds Pathway to UK range

18 December, 2008

Marlborough wine producer Winegrowers of Ara is to add a third range to its UK portfolio.

Pathway will sit below the existing Composite and Resolute ranges in price, with the 2008 Sauvignon Blanc having an rrp of £7.99 and the Pinot Noir at £9.99.

Both wines will be launched at the generic New Zealand wines tasting in London in January.

Winemaker Damian Martin said: “The wines are a fusion of fruit from all over our vineyard and, as such, offer a classic expression of Marlborough at an accessible rice point.

“The English translation of the Maori word Ara is pathway.

“We chose this name for the range to illustrate that these wines are the first step on the Ara path for the consumer.”

Winegrowers of Ara is represented by PLB in the UK market.

One of the most fascinating stories in wine, fit to stand alongside the Judgement of Paris, is that of Rudy Kurniawan, a man who managed to fool friends, auction houses and experts into believing they were drinking some of the world’s most expensive wines.
