Kosovo wines head for UK multiple
Wines from the independent republic of Kosovo are to be sold in the UK for the first time.
A wine made from the Vranac grape is to listed by a major supermarket from March.
It will be imported from Stonecastle Vineyards in Rahovec in the Balkan territory by NWWS, the company headed by former Decanter editor David Rowe.
NWWS has winemaking operations in Europe and Asia.
There are also plans to ship wine from the Sarda Group winery in India, and the Republic of Georgia.
Rowe is a team leader on a World Bank-funded project to develop a national wine strategy for Georgia.
