Constellation opens bottling hub

17 February, 2009

Constellation will be bottling all its high-volume Australian wines in the UK after opening a state-of-the-art bottling and warehousing hub in Avonmouth, near Bristol.

The company said the new 80,000 sq m development dubbed Constellation Park is the biggest wine warehouse and distribution centre in Europe, and it will employ around 300 people.

Constellation has invested some 44 million in the project.

Two bottling lines and three bag-in-box lines will enable the company to bottle up to 9 million 9-litre cases a year, and bulk shipping will cut its carbon footprint.

The building also uses rainwater harvesting and sensor-controlled lighting to make it more sustainable.
