Provence stages first UK tasting

10 April, 2009

Provence Wines is holding its first

UK press and trade tasting to show the 2008 vintage rosés.

Some 70 pink wines will be on taste at

the White Horse in London's Parsons Green on April 27.

All the wines come from the three AOCs represented by Provence Wines - Côtes de Provence, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence and Coteaux Varois en Provence.

The body represents 580 producers, 66 negociants and 95% of the volume produced by Provence AOC.

It has also invested in the world's only rosé wine research centre which was set up in 1999 and is

in Vidauban, Provence.

Its head oenologist Nathalie Pouzalgues said: "Rosé

requires a perfect understanding of the terroir, the raw materials and the production objectives - quality rosé needs specialist

expertise."

The tasting is by invitation only.
