Diageo and Magnum develop Taste for Life with photo comp

Diageo GB is launching an online photo

competition to support its Tanqueray gin brand.

The competition is being run in partnership with photo agency Magnum under the heading of A

Taste

for Life. It will encourage entrants to capture images depicting "rich, intense moments in life".

Ten finalists will have their work showcased in an exhibition at Liberty's in London in May, and the overall winner will get a £5,000 cash prize.

Tanqueray will be sampled at Grand Designs at Excel in London from April 25 to May 4, Taste of London in Regent's Park from June 19 -22, and Taste of Birmingham at

Cannon Hill Park from July 10 -13.

Tanqueray will also sponsor VIP areas at the events. Brand manager Lara O'Shea said: "We know times are tough

and we want to provide retailers with support

tailored to appeal to

Tanqueray consumers, who are looking for real experiences and something different."

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
