App for iPhone helps monitor drinking habits

28 May, 2009

A software developer has created an application for the Apple iPhone to help consumers keep track of their alcohol consumption.

The new app, called Alcohol Aware, allows the user to calculate the number of units in the drink they are consuming.

The free download also allows users to add any drinks they consume over the course of their day to their history and to review the units and calories consumed on a daily basis.

A summary allows people to gauge their consumption on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis and compare it with health guidelines.

Developer Mubaloo is hoping to market the app to drinks companies, which can then brand the software and customise it to work with drinks in their ranges.
