First ad campaign for WKD Core

WKD's cider brand WKD Core has unveiled its first ad campaign.

More than 2,000 large-format billboards around the UK will show giant windfall apples, with slogans such as: "Treemendous – our new apple cider is out now."

In London, Birmingham and Manchester the brand will feature in LED panels for two weeks in August and then again later in the year.

The outdoor campaign will be backed by ads in men's lifestyle magazines and national newspapers, online activity and promotions in a range of media.

Beverage Brands marketing director Debs Carter said: "We're really pleased with the initial reactions from both consumers and customers. We put a comprehensive trade support package in place for the launch and it's now time to complement that with activity to further build consuemr pull-through.

WKD Core comes in 50cl bottles designed to retail at £1.79-£1.99.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
