Magners launches new TV ad

A new TV advert has been launched for Magners Pear, adopting a ‘holiday’ theme.

It features comedian Mark Watson, who has appeared in all the Magners Pear adverts since the launch earlier this year.

In it Watson says how happy he is to come home from a disappointing holiday to something he can trust in, leading to the 100% Pear 0% Disappointment tagline.

The brand launched in May and a spokesman said consumer awareness and demand for the new product has increased significantly in the past month as a result of the heavyweight advertising campaign and national sampling tour.

Paul Bartlett, marketing director said: “Feedback from consumers has been extremely positive and encouraging for the rest of the summer season.

“This new advert is timed perfectly with the holiday season – and we hope that this will help to drive footfall into trade as consumers seek out the new product. Distribution of Magners Pear has been building since the launch and we are confident that this will only increase throughout the rest of the year.”

The shops that stand out from the madding crowd

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
