20 July, 2009

Mike Osmond has been appointed by First Quench Retailing as its commercial director.

First Quench Retailing has appointed Mike Osmond as its commercial director. He replaces Lloyd Stephens, who has decided to leave the business to explore other opportunities, the company said. Stephens had been with the business since January 2007 as trading director and latterly as commercial director.

Osmond joins the business from Somerfield where he spent 16 years in various senior commercial and category roles, most recently as board director responsible for buying. The company added: “Osmond joins First Quench at an important time for the business as it begins to put in place a number of strategic and operational initiatives to position the business for future success.”

Martin Healy, acting chief executive, said: “I would like to thank Lloyd for his valuable contribution to the business over the last couple of years, and I wish him the very best for the future. I am delighted that Mike is joining First Quench and I and the team are very much looking forward to working with him as we begin to put in place the building blocks for future growth. Mike has had a very impressive career in retail spanning nearly 30 years and his significant experience in building businesses for success will be invaluable as we move forward.”

Osmond said: “I’m delighted to be joining First Quench. It is a strong business with great prospects and solid plans for the future. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and I look forward to working with Martin and the team.”
