Marks & Spencer has appointed a new winemaker Belinda Kleinig.

She joins from Bibendum where she has been winemaker and technical manager for the past seven years

Her previous career included working at Carneros Creek Winery in the Napa Valley, Hardys' Tintara winery in McLaren Vale and Domaine de la Baume in the south of France.

She said: "I am thrilled to be joining Marks & Spencer's award-winning wine team. I have winemaking experience at both boutique and large wineries and my seven years at Bibendum have given me a good understanding of the British wine market. I am looking forward to working alongside winemakers Jo Ahearne MW, Sue Daniels and the rest of the team to develop the wine range further."

M&S's wine and drinks technical manager Simon Allison said: "Belinda is a talented winemaker with a wealth of experience in UK wine market and she will play a significant role in developing our exclusive range with her enthusiasm, commitment and passion for wine."
