Pedigree to keep cricket colours

25 November, 2009

Marstonís Pedigree is to adopt permanently the red and white colours of the St Georgeís flag that it took on a temporary basis for last summerís Ashes cricket series.

The brewer said it had decided to make the move after record sales of the brand during the summer.

The new colouring will feature on cans, bottles, merchandise and on-trade POS.

Marketing manager Des Gallagher said: ďAs the official beer of English cricket, Englandís Ashes victory brought Pedigree to the attention of more cricket-loving beer drinkers than ever before.

ďWe want to build on that and proudly continue to show out passionate support of English cricket by reflecting it in the colours of our historic flagship beer.Ē

Marstonís said Pedigree is ranked eight in the premium bottled ales category.
