NZW UK job in high demand

Applications have been pouring in for the post of UK director of New Zealand Winegrowers? and the first round of interviews is scheduled to take place next week.

Current incumbent Warren Adamson said 10 candidates would go to a selection panel of UK and New Zealand-based interested parties, who would choose a shortlist for the first interviews.

Second interviews will be held when N?Z?W? top brass are in the UK for the

ondon International Wine Fair in May.

Adamson said: Weve had an amazing response and some very high calibre people applying.

Im confident well find someone to take it on to the next level.?Adamson is leaving to become European sales manager for Craggy Range?.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
