Charity first for Neighbourhood winner

The winner of the Neighbourhood Off-licence of the Year title at OLN’s Drinks Retailing Awards is donating its prize money to charity.

Cheshire wine merchant Corks Out will donate half of the £500 prize to Claire House Children’s Hospice, which provides care to children with life?-threatening illnesses on the Wirral, and the other half to the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

Owner Ruth Yates said: “Corks Out has a chosen charity each year, sometimes local, sometimes national. Last year was the British Heart Foundation and the year before was Breast Cancer Research.”?Corks Out won the Neighbourhood Off-licence of the Year award in recognition of its service ethic, charity work and collaboration with local businesses.

Stores provide raffle prizes for local schools and a free delivery service for disabled customers.
